With so-called "thanks" (but no thanks!) to the current administration, the 988 Hotline to LGBTQ+ Youth Specialized Services program closed its doors on July 17, shuttering a major suicide prevention service for LGBTQ+ young people in the U.S. — but if you’re in crisis, that doesn’t mean you’re alone.
If you’re an LGBTQ+ person experiencing a mental health crisis, it’s important to know that you still have people on your side, and there are resources you can use to get support. Check out this list a few of the largest U.S. hotlines with LGBTQ+-specific services and operators that were operational at time of this writing.
If you’re in need of material support, you may be able to access it through one of the organizations highlighted in a previous roundup of mental health and mutual aid resources.
