The Vast Majority of Mass Shooters are Cis Men

Far-right fueled networks of disinformation continue to share anti-LGBTQ+ misinformation, as spewed by some politicians and influencers: calculated but discredited misinformation about LGBTQ+ people “grooming” children, preying on women in bathrooms, introducing pornographic material into school libraries, and most recently, perpetrating mass shootings. Media experts say the rhetoric is one more aspect of ongoing, coordinated efforts to frame trans people as a threat to the safety of the general public. And despite best efforts to counter these baseless claims, the unfounded and poorly sourced mis-information persists.

How best do we take a stand against these on-going smear campaigns?
