Celebrate with Keva Schulz

The Bay Area Council on Gender Diversity is super excited to announce this year's featured speaker at the local celebration of International Transgender Day of Visibility will be Keva Schulz. Join us on March 29 at the Tarlton Theatre to hear her presentation: Transgender Super Powers as part of the local celebration of TDOV.

Keva was born in Valley Forge, PA and raised in Shawano, WI. She holds a BS and PhD in Metallurgical Engineering from UW-Madison. Keva had a 37-year career developing data storage hardware at IBM and Seagate Technology which included 20 years managing hard disk drive recording head suspension development.

After coming out as a transgender woman in 2017, she founded Seagate PRIDE!, Seagate’s global LGBTQ+ employee resource group (seven sites world-wide) and also coordinated the activities for the six other ERGS at the Seagate Bloomington, MN site.

Since retiring in 2019, Keva volunteers as a transgender and environmental advocate and works on visual arts. She manages 100 acres of Waupaca County, WI forestland. Keva and her wife Lynne split time between a cabin in the Town of Little Wolf and home in Apple Valley, MN. They enjoy road cycling, cross county skiing and hiking; also spending time with their three adult children. Keva remains an avid Packer and Badger fan.

If you have not yet had the pleasure of meeting Keva in person, she shares her story in greater depth in this two part online interview and explains why she believes being transgender is a superpower!
