From our friends at The Good News Network -- consider the difficulties associated with self-forgiveness and get a psychologist’s advice for releasing shame. Self-forgiveness sounds simple in theory but can be much harder in practice and a recent study out of Flinders University has dissected some great insights. Researchers found that forgiving yourself may be an ongoing, nuanced process, better understood as a “mixed emotional experience” in which negative feelings may ebb and flow or never dissipate entirely -- rather than a clear-cut one and done.
