A Victory for the Vital Care of Trans Youth

A federal judge in Oregon ruled that Health and Human Services overreached by declaring gender-affirming treatments for minors unsafe, providing preliminary relief to health care professionals, transgender youth and their families/guardians. The ruling halts federal intimidation of providers and ensures continued access to care for transgender youth.


“Today’s win breaks through the noise and gives some needed clarity to patients, families, and providers,” Letitia James, the Democratic New York attorney general who led the lawsuit, said in a statement. “Health care services for transgender young people remain legal, and the federal government cannot intimidate or punish the providers who offer them.”
